Britain´s art-rock soprano and outsider, Kate Bush, is back after 35 years of not been enrolled on touring. And she is back with a massive London residency of 15 shows at the Hammersmith Odeon; the legendary venue that in 1973, saw Ziggy Stardust´s assassination and the stage where Bush´s last full show took place in 1979.
Due to the isolation that kept her out of touring since 1979 and with very few public appearances in the last decades, it seems that Kate Bush fits into the “studio artist” category but their legendary shows and artistic potential on stage defines her as one of the most unique and original British female singers.
‘KATE BUSH´S BEST SONG?’
With 10 studio albums and writing lyrics full of literary references and surreal eccentricity since she was 13, Bush is one of the first musicians who took complete control over the output at an early stage and also one of the first artists (just anticipated by Bowie) who brought an eclectic experience to an audience after including theatrical factors and histrionics on stage that were far beyond music.
The songwriter. The multi- instrumentalist. The choreographer. The dancer. The producer. The performer. The thin line between art-pop, art-rock, baroque pop, classical music and the ambiguous definition of an eclectic performance. A truly unique artist.
